Lansing Community College celebrates Black History Month with month-long events
LCC announced their events celebrating Black History Month that are all open to the public and free, with the exception of the soul food luncheons. The celebratory events are as listed:

Feb. 1- Wednesday, Dart Auditorium, 8 p.m.

Black History Month kick-off: poetry, a keynote speaker and local recording artsists Ieesha On'trel, LaNette Hester and Onnette Mitchell

Feb. 7- Tuesday, jazz with Tia Imai Hanna, Dart Auditorium, 7:30 p.m.

Feb. 8- Wednesday, Health Fair, Gannon Building, second floor lobby, 10a.m.–4 p.m.

Delta Township Hosts Daddy Daughter Dance
Delta Township Parks and Recreation will sponsor the Daddy Daughter Dance Monday, February 20th from 7:00-9:00pm. The Daddy Daughter dance will be held in the Lexington Lansing Hotel (formerly the Sheraton Lansing Hotel) at 925 South Creyts rd. in Lansing.
Enjoy dancing to a DJ, refreshments, a photo memento and a corsage for the young lady. It is open to all young ladies ages 2 & older and the adult male escort. $10.00 per person for Delta Township residents and $12.00 per person for non-residents. Optional buffet dinner available at an additional cost.

East Lansing City Council honors residents making a difference
Lansing is home to some predominant people. The annual Crystal Awards honors individuals, groups, organizations, businesses and commercial enterprises who go above and beyond to enhance the quality of East Lansing." The four recipients of the award will be honored in the community or business category.
Recipients honored will be the guest of honor at a special public ceremony on Thursday, April 19, 2012 at 5pm in the East Lansing Hannah Community Center, 819 Abbot Road.
