Come join the wonderful volunteers at Tri-County Office on Aging Eaton County Meals on Wheels, a non-profit organization trying to serve seniors in need. Volunteers are needed to help deliver hot meals to local homebound elderly citizens in Eaton County. There are different delivery locations depending on where you would like to deliver and there is currently a shortage of volunteers all over Eaton County.
The following list is where there are delivery routes available: Bellevue, Olivet, Charlotte, Dimondale, Eaton Rapids, Grand Ledge, Delta Township, Mulliken, Potterville, Sunfield and Vermontville. Meals are delivered daily, Monday through Friday except holidays. Volunteers choose their schedules. It can be once a week, once a month, or whatever fits your schedule. Approximately one hour is required to complete deliveries between 11 a.m. and noon.
Training is provided and you can be reimbursed at .32 cents per mile. Volunteers must be 18 years of age, have a car and valid driver’s license, or partner with someone who has these requirements.
