HOW DID YOU GET STARTED IN RADIO? I got started in radio by accident. My Grandfather was a minister and had a Saturday morning gospel show on WOLY FM in Battle Creek, Michigan. One morning his board operator didn't show, so I figured out how to to run the show. The program director hired me that week. I was 14 years old. After working radio in Several Major Markets that included Chicago, Detroit and Atlanta, I decided that I needed to have a career move that was more stable--not moving from city to city. So I joined the U.S. Navy. That lasted about ten minutes. So I got a gig on WOWI Norfolk. Stayed there nine years. I went back to the A for a year doing Traffic, and now I'm in the Capital city.
CAREER ACCOMPLISHMENTS Afternoon drive jock for HOT 97.5, Atlanta-- in the market, traffic announcer for V-103 in Atlanta--via Metro Networks, wrote and produced skits and breaks for Maverick Warner Brother's Recording Artists, UNV's sophomore album. Summer 05 inducted in the Radio One Hall of Fame for being one of the original jocks, and helping start WHTA FM Atlanta.
