Soulja Boy VS. Fabolous

What may have started out as harmless fun can maybe turn into potential beef between rappers soulja Boy and Fabolous. In an interview with TV  Real Talk NY, Fabolous was asked his views on the recent scandal between Soulja Boy and Kat Stacks. Fabolous replied, " Stupid boy swag?" He continued to say he was mind boggled because everyone knows what Kat Stacks is about. He said he has nothing against soulja boy and that he had a little fun on twitter. Soulja Boy took the harmless fun and turned it into what may become a beef between the two. Yesterday Soulja Boy posted tweets insulting Fabolous and stating that his lyrics don't compare to his. Fabolous responded by saying, "Yooooo!!! Jus had another crazy dream @Souljaboy was talkin s*** bout me on twitter but then i woke up & went to his page, its nothin there."  Next he stated, "I dont think that was @Souljaboy, think some1 hacked his account.. Im goin back to sleep.." Will these two rappers become beefed out? or will they solve this simple misunderstanding?

Wyclef Jean Slams Actor Sean Penn as Cocaine-User

Fact or False Ploy to Save Face?

Wyclef Jean responded to Sean Penn's

public doubts of his Haitian presidential campaign at a concert over the weekend, alleging Penn was "too busy sniffing cocaine" to notice Jean's presence in Haiti after an earthquake devastated the nation in January.

The colossal jab came at a Hot 97 concert this weekend, where Wyclef changed the lyrics to his 2004 hit 'President,' singing: "I got a message for Sean Penn: Maybe he ain't see me in Haiti because he was too busy sniffing cocaine."

The night Wyclef announced his candidacy for Haiti's president, Sean Penn expressed serious concern. "I have to say I'm very suspicious of it, simply because he, as an ambassador at large, has been virtually silent. For those of us in Haiti, he has been a non-presence," Penn said on the same 'Larry King Live' broadcast that featured Wyclef's announcement.

Pras, one-third of The Fugees along with Wyclef and Lauryn Hill, came out swinging shortly after. "I love Wyclef to death. I was one of his best men along with his brother at his wedding," he told Vulture. "But I want to make this clear: I would rather lose Wyclef as a friend, brother, and save a nation of 10 million Haitians."

So Wyclef tacked a jab at Pras directly onto his new Sean Penn lyric this weekend: "I got a message for Praswell: Even though you don't want to support me, I got love for you, even though you only kicked 8 bars in the Fugees."

Sean Penn's rep quickly wrote a vehement denial of cocaine use, telling JustJared

 "Mr. Jean is clearly unfamiliar with the physical demands put upon volunteers in Haiti. As aid workers there, the notion of depleting the body's immune system thru the use of illicit drugs is ludicrous. More specifically, J/P Haitian Relief Organization (a.k.a. JPHRO) has a ZERO tolerance policy for any and all illegal drugs. As the leader of this organization, Sean Penn has not only set this policy, but adheres to it. That Mr. Jean would make such a false accusation is reckless and saddening, but not surprising."

Jean was disqualified from the presidential running when he did not meet Haitian residency requirements.

Game Re-Amps Kat Stacks Beef.

West Coast rapper Game has decided to put the "finishing touches" on his beef against self-proclaimed celebrity groupie Kat Stacks with an onslaught of Twitter disses.

In his rant, Game taunted Stacks' image and profession as a groupie.

"@ihatekatstacks #ifYOUwasbornwhite you'd be suckin eminem, bubba sparxx, jon b & travis barker d!cks instead of, soulja boys & young money's," he tweeted Sunday (September 5) morning.

"now go back to sleep in that sewer you RAT !!!"

"anybody gotta mouse trap............ sit it on any d*ck in the world, bet we catch that b*tch chin."

"Now it's time for "Mortal Kombat" Finish Her.........."

In late August, Game also aired out his issues against Stacks.

"@ihatekatstacks wantin u 2 catch AIDS & die is probably the only thing me & @50cent got n common. Go swallow a teaspoon of rat poison," Game tweeted Thursday (August 26).

"@ihatekatstacks One day you gone Internally Drown in all that cum in ya stomach. More kids in ya stomach then all the projects in New York." (Game's Twitter)

T.I.  UPDATE

More details are emerging about T.I.'s recent alleged drug charge arrest in California, namely that the initial reports of T.I. and his wife having just marijuana might be underselling the drugging the couple were maybe up to. Multiple outlets are reporting that police found methamphetamines in the car, along with possible ecstasy pills and cups of sizzurp. Which is just a crazy amount of alleged drugs. Police are reportedly testing the variety of illegal substances now, trying to determine what, exactly, T.I. had in the car.

T.I., Wife Arrested On Drug Charges

T.I. and his wife Tameka Cottle were arrested late Wednesday night (Sept. 1) on drug charges after police smelled alleged marijuana coming from their car, authorities said.

The arrests for possession of a controlled substance came on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood during a traffic stop, Los Angeles sheriff's deputy Mark Pope told the Associated Press.

"Deputies smelled a strong odor of marijuana emitting from the vehicle," the department said. "A narcotics investigation ensued" that resulted in the arrests.

The arrests reflect that last week of socialite Paris Hilton, whose is being investigated for felony cocaine possession after a motorcycle officer smelled pot wafting from her car.

The Atlanta-based T.I., 29, whose real name is Clifford Harris Jr., and Cottle, a 36-year-old singer with the group Xscape, were booked at the West Hollywood sheriff's station and bail was set at $10,000.

Pope wasn't sure if they were still being held early Thursday morning.

T.I., who has a key role in the current top box office movie "Takers," served seven months in an Arkansas federal prison and three months in a Georgia halfway house on federal weapons charges and was released in March.
TMZ reports that T.I. is on probation stemming from the prison term.

Since then, things were looking up for the Grammy winner. The father of five married Cottle in late July. "Takers," a shoot 'em up about an armored truck robbery that goes bad, was released in late August, and a new album, "King Uncaged," is due later this month.

Drake and I tied the knot." Nicki later tweeted that the two were getting their marriage annulled.

Kanye West doing a movie album! ha

Kanye West tweeted last week that he is shooting a short film to accompany his tentative album title, Dark Twisted Fantasy. “In Prague organizing the movie based around the album... I just wanna thank everybody for the overwhelming response to the Power remix!” Prague is where he and Hype Williams filmed the iconic video for ‘Diamonds Are Forever’. We’ve scored a few photos from the set and it appears that ‘Ye is again using religious figures and mythical creatures to make his creative point. Sounds like the shooting is going pretty good so far. The rapper recently tweeted, "We've shot some good stuff so far... really good... NO! I mean REALLY GOOD!" Flip it to check out another pic.

Usher talks Kids, and his belief in Marriage!

We now have a few quotes from Usher’s new interview with People magazine. He talked all about his rambunctious  kids, his parenting style and his possible future marriage.

On his failed marriage to Tameka Raymond:

“I appreciate the relationship for what it was. Even though it didn’t work out, I’m glad we got together. I love her as the mother of my children; we just couldn’t be married,” he told the magazine.

“We’re two different people and we have two different goals. It just was never going to work out 100 percent,” he said.

On the personalities of his adorable sons:

The contract comes weeks after Khaled's Miami associates Cool & Dre sealed their own deal with Cash Money.

Producer Sean Garrett recently informed SOHH that a possible Cash Money deal for him was still in the works.

"The negotiations is getting real heavy but you know, that's my home team, that's where I want to be so we're just gonna have to make it work. There's a few things that we're still going back and forth on but everything is looking really good and that's family regardless. I got so much love for them. Me andTyga were just on '106 & Park' ... Drake Is Still Coupled Up With That Cougar Taraji P. Henson!

The post-BET Awards lovin’ is still going strong for Drake and Taraji! Drizzle was spotted gettin’ it in with Taraji north of the border last weekend. Go head girl, get your cougar on lil mama.

Bossip spies spotted Drake Saturday night at a downtown Vancouver restaurant cuddled up with Taraji (who is in town filming the Lifetime flick ‘Taken From Me: The Tiffany Rubin Story’). Mr. Graham made sure the couple would be allowed their privacy and no groupies were allowed near him. Drake and Taraji were seated separately from his entourage at their own booth, reportedly sharing a drink, eating off each others plate, spoon feeding each other and kissing!

According to our sources Taraji has been in town for a little over a month filming a movie and Drake has a few days off from his tour so he’s been in town visiting her. They arent very slick about their relationship, but you can tell they are trying to keep it on the hush.

We did a little checking around, and Drake was definitely in Vancouver on Saturday.*

Taraji will be 40 on September 11th, Drake is currently 23-years-old, turning 24 on October 24th — which means there is a 16 year age gap between the two of them. Ironic since that’s exactly how old Taraji’s son is — 16.

We’re sure that’s not an issue for them though, cuz like, Drake is soooooooooooooooo MATURE. Right? Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.

Fanny did an interview with VH1's Behind the Music (airing 9 p.m. ET/PT tomorrow--the same day her album Back To Me drops).  And she opened up about her recent suicide attempt and wanting to die.  She talks about her overdose being no accident, and how she attempted suicide so she could have a way out:

"I didn't have any fight in me. I didn't care about anything. I just wanted out.  At that moment, I wanted out. I wanted it to be over with – all of it, all of that [expletive]."

"I just sat in the closet and looked at the mirror and took all the pills in the bottle. I wanted to go to sleep and just be at peace. I knew exactly what I was doing. You can't accidentally take a whole bottle of pills."

"I was tired of people doing me wrong, constantly, over and over again, dealing with my family – my father, dealing with men and their [expletive] – I was tired. "My head was hurting me. I was over it."

Her manager Brian talked about what Fantasia texted him right before, and how he found her:

"Her emotions were extremely low.  She'd been crying all day. Fantasia was just numb. Fantasia texted me, saying 'I love you.' I wrote back, 'I love you more.' Then it hit me."

"I wrote, 'You better not do anything or think about doing anything stupid.' And I left it at that. About 10 minutes later, Fantasia texted me back, and she said, 'Already did.' I went into Fantasia's room and saw her on the floor, and my heart just dropped."

Fantasia went on to talk about her thoughts when she "realized" Antwaun Cook, her lover, was still married, and her thoughts once she awoke in the hospital the day after her attempt:

"When I met him, he was separated ... wasn't living in his home. He didn't want to be back with his wife – that is what I was told," Barrino says. "I remember waking up in the hospital [and thinking], 'It didn't work, I'm still here in this hellhole. Still here with all this drama going on.' "

"My nurse Melanie was a blessing into my life because she didn't tell me what I wanted to hear," she says. "She told me what I needed to hear. And she looked at me and said, 'You gotta get up, and you've gotta get out of here, 'cause you haven't fulfilled your destiny.' "

"I realized how people end up in the grave. Because that one moment [snaps her fingers] of just breaking or feeling like I can't, I can't go on, it's too heavy. That was somewhere I don't ever want to go again."

His current single, ‘Dueces’ is climbing the charts and actually receiving some serious radio play and producer Bryan Michael Cox recently spilled the beans that Brown is going on tour with Usher! *Insert corny “Awww snap!” here* “Usher and the boy Chris Brown are going on tour, y'all know that, right? I might've just gave y'all some exclusive s**t!" Cox revealed via a personal Youtube video to his fans.

Feeling the slow economy?  Jay-Z isn't.  In the new Forbes list of the top earners in hip hop, Hov raked in an ice cold $63 million over the last twelve months.  To put that in a little perspective, that means he'll owe $22 million in taxes, which is more than anyone else, other than Diddy, even earned.  Flip it to see who else made the list.

It wasn't just music that pushed Jay to the top, he's a part owner of the NBA's New Jersey Nets, he has the 40/40 nightclub chain and he's even a producer on the Broadway show "Fela."  Jay also grossed about a million a night on his last tour.  Despite all that, he's not even the highest earner in his family.  Beyonce' still makes more, but it's unlikely Jay is too concerned with that.

Diddy is still a money making machine, despite making less than half of what Jay did.  Diddy pulled in $30 million dollars on the strength of his multiple businesses and acting.

Akon is third after grossing $21 million.  On top of music, he's made money off of his Konvict Clothing line, he got paid by Pepsi, and his label has huge selling stars like Lady Gaga.

Lil Wayne has been locked up since March, but he's still number four on Forbes' list.  Weezy has still clocked $20 million over the last twelve months.

Number five is Dr. Dre.  Forbes points out that Dre never sells his songs, he holds on to them and still collects royalties today from "The Chronic," released in 1992.  Dre also launched his own line of headphones, and again served as executive producer for Eminem on his platinum selling "Recovery" album.  Dre's total take for the last year was $17 million.

 DMX Released Early from Jail

 The Dawg is a free man after serving 18 days of a 90-day sentence for '02 reckless driving charges.

Less than three weeks into his latest sentencing, rapper DMX was released from jail early. The Yonkers, New York veteran was sentenced to 90 days for reckless driving, but served only 18.

Only July 26, the Ruff Ryders star turned himself in for a 2002 arrest where he was alledgedly driving while intoxicated. After a plea bargain, the rapper was sentenced for the lesser reckless driving charge.

Earlier this year, an album titled Mixtape was released by Siccness Records of new DMX material. The rapper is said to be working on a 2CD album, and presently shopping for a label deal.

 Charles Barkley calls Lebron a "Punk"

Charles Barkley weighed in Wednesday on a recent Twitter statement by LeBron James. Barkley, a TNT analyst and former NBA All-Star, said he hopes James remembers Barkley's critical comments and called a couple of James' more significant actions this summer "punk" moves.

"I heard about LeBron's little tweet today that he's remembering everybody who said anything bad about him," Barkley said Thursday on ESPN Radio 103.3 FM in Dallas/Fort Worth. "And he said 'everybody.' Well, I want him to make sure that he puts my name on that (list).

"I thought that his little one-hour special was a punk move. I thought them dancing around on the stage was a punk move, and I thought he should've stayed in Cleveland. Him joining Dwyane Wade's team was very disappointing to me."

Barkley spoke on "Galloway and Company," hosted by Randy Galloway, Ian Fitzsimmons and Matt Mosley. Barkley referred to a Twitter post by James -- under the name King James -- in which he said: "Don't think for one min that I haven't been taking mental notes of everyone taking shots at me this summer. And I mean everyone!" 
 

Hmmm....Is that beef brewing???

Throughout the summer, many Rap fans were surprised when Rick Ross released B.M.F. (Blowing Money Fast). The Styles P-assisted song became a smash single from Ross' Teflon Don album. However, the initials of the song and its opening chorus pay homage to Black Mafia Family and its incarcerated leader Demetrius "Big Meech" Flenory. While rappers such as Bleu Davinci and Young Jeezy have been historically associated with Big Meech and BMF, Ross has not.

Last month, the Miami rapper was questioned about the song, when Jeezy had recorded his own version of (The Real) B.M.F. Ross Told Sirius FM's Hip Hop Nation show, "It's all about who makes the best music," before admitting he didn't feel as though Jeezy's version was an attack on him. "Jeezy got my number, he know where I'm at. We blowin' money fast over here." Ross also said that Big Meech had reportedly "cosigned the record."

Released today Jeezy's "Death Before Dishonor (B.M.F. Remix) has the following verse. "How you blowin' money fast? You don't know the crew / Are you part of the fam? S***, I never knew / Y'all was supposed to make it hard, this is easy, h** / "Pull up in that triple white," I think I'm Jeezy, h**." When leaked to media today, Def Jam employees referred to the song as "the most controversial record of this year," although no formal confirmation of the diss has been made.

Although Ross' name is never mentioned, many speculate that Jeezy is confronting his Def Jam label-mate. Previously, Young Jeezy had appeared on Ross' debut, Port of Miami and his sophomore album, Trilla. Jeezy also worked with Ross' Triple C's group on their Custom Cars & Cycles album. (August 9). Hmmm, could this be the beginning of something ugly???

“A person like myself always needs a great sidekick and a person you can rely on no matter the circumstances. And she’s that,” he says. “She’s got my back, and I love her for that.”

She also reveals that her sons will still go to school in Cleveland and she will spend time between Miami and her Ohio throughout the season.

 Queen Latifah goes public????

Queen Latifah has decided to go public with her longtime relationship with trainer Jeanette Jenkins. Here she is pictured embracing her girlfriend while yacht-cruising with newlyweds Swizz Beats and Alicia keys. Queen’s camp has not released a statement of any kind signifying a public “coming out,” however, with these photos being released, it’s going to be pretty hard to dodge the questions from now on.

MMA Fighter Rampage Jackson Challenges Rapper Game To Cage Fight

Quinton “Rampage” Jackson has officially challenged Compton, California rapper Game to a cage fight.  

The challenge comes after remarks Game made about Rampage, after he lost a recent fight to Rashad “Sugar” Evans, just days after the premiere of the movie The A-Team, which stars Rampage as "B.A. Baracus."

“If the Game had my role I would have stopped being a fan of A-Team,” Rampage told BBC’s 1Xtra. “After the movie, I had a fight and I lost my fight. The Game did an interview cause he was trying to hit the road and said he would be a better B.A. Go on YouTube right now.

Game made the comments in a recent interview with AllHipHop.com.

"When he had that UFC fight against Rashad Evans and he lost, I felt like that was me [winning]," Game told AllHipHop.com. "Don't you know ni**a? I play [B.A. Baracus] better than you! I pity the fool! I went in there [the audition] and I killed the Mr. T role on my screen test."

After these comments Rampage fired back challenging Game to a sparring match after the apparent disrespect.

“He totally disrespected me. I said look here Game, we can have an act off you can play the role of B.A. and I can play the role of B.A.," Rampage continued. "Then we can have an rap off, where you rap and I rap and then lets get in the cage and have a sparring match. I told the Game that and he shut up talking. No response though, like crickets."

Wyclef Jean to Run for PRESIDENT of Haiti!!!

Nearly eight months after a 7.0 magnitude earthquake flattened Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, Haitian-American hip-hop star Wyclef Jean has reportedly decided to run for president of the island nation.

While he grew up Brooklyn and New Jersey since immigrating to the United States with his family at the age of 9, Wyclef apparently still feels ready to become leader of the impoverished Caribbean country.

“If not for the earthquake, I probably would have waited another 10 years before doing this,” Jean told Time. “The quake drove home to me that Haiti can’t wait another 10 years for us to bring it into the 21st century.”

NBA Player Lorenzen Wright Found Dead

On July 22, former Memphis Grizzlies basketball star Lorenzen Wright was reported to be missing; on Thursday, investigators discovered his dead body in a densely wooded area in Memphis, Tennessee. The 34-year-old, 6-foot 11-inch athlete was last seen July 18. Wright's cousin, Camella Logan, issued the following statement Wednesday night: "Lorenzen's family has come together to mourn his loss and honor his legacy. We appreciate your thoughts, prayers, and condolences as they are comforting at this very difficult time." A Memphis native, Wright attended high school there, enrolled at the University of Memphis, then became a member of the NBA's Memphis Grizzlies—just like another NBA star, Anfernee "Penny" Hardaway. "It's just a great loss for the city of Memphis and for his family at such an early age," Hardaway stated. "It's just senseless."

ESSENCE RESPONDS TO CONTROVERSY

Essence Magazine, an magazine catering to African-American and ethnic women, started a lot of controversy this week when they announced they hired a white fashion editor. Many people were angry because the mainstream fashion industry showcases an uneven amount of black models, and since Essence is for African-Americans, one should have been chosen.  Find out what Essence's Editor-In-Chief Angela Burt-Murray had to say about the situation

Here's what the magazine's Editor-in-Chief, Angela Burt-Murray, had to say:

"I understand that this issue has struck an emotional chord with our audience,however I selected Ellianna, who has been contributing to the magazine on a freelance basis for the last six months, because of her creativity, vision, the positive reader response to her work and her enthusiasm and respect for the audience and our brand. We remain committed to celebrating the unique beauty and style of African-American women in Essence magazine and online at Essence.com."

Burt-Murray also expressed her feelings in her op-ed piece on the website The Grio. She thinks it's a shame the black community gets outraged when she hires a white editor, but doesn't express the same emotion about issues that plague African-Americans.  She commented:

"When we run pieces on how unemployment is devastating black men? Nada.When we run story after story on how HIV is the leading cause of death for black women age 18-34? Zilch. The things that really are the end of our world apparently aren't."

Former Essence fashion editor, Michaela Angela Davis, feels that the magazine is going against its mission, which is to 'inspire black women to lead bold, fulfilling lives.' She wrote on her Facebook:

It's with a heavy heart I've learned Essence Magazine has engaged a white Fashion Director. I love Essence and I love fashion. I hate this news and this feeling. It hurts, literally. The fashion industry has historically been so hostile to black people -- especially women. The 1 seat reserved for black women once held by Susan Taylor, Ionia Dunn-Lee, Harriette Cole(+ me) is now-I can't. It's a dark day for me."

Dame Dash Loses Multi-Million Dollar Manhattan Homes

Former Roc-A-Fella co-owner Damon Dash has reportedly lost his multi-million dollar New York City duplex after it was auctioned off for over $5 million on Wednesday.The auction in state Supreme Court was ordered after Dash was sued nearly two years ago for failing to pay the $78,504 monthly tab on a $7.3 million mortgage on the two Manhattan apartments he owned. Only one of the homes, at 25 N. Moore, fetched any interest yesterday, with the winning bid going to a California-based mortgage and finance firm called Platinum Capital Partners Edward Farrell, a lawyer representing the buyer, plunked down a check for 10 percent of the sale price in court, but refused to answer any questions about his client.

DMX goes back to jail after being released several weeks ago

A lawyer for DMX has confirmed that the rapper surrendered to authorities in Los Angeles today (July 26th) to begin serving a three month prison sentence.

DMX appeared in a Los Angeles court, where he was sentenced to the three months, for violating the terms of his 2002 probation for a reckless driving charge.

“Mr. Simmons is here today to fully cooperate with respect to any matters of the Court’s concern,” DMX’s lawyer Aja M. Southern told HipHopNews. “This is one of many steps towards rebuilding his image and rapport with the community and his loyal fans.”

The jail sentence comes on the heels of DMX’s release from prison earlier this month, after he served four months in an Arizona jail.

In that incident, the rapper violated his probation when he tested positive for cocaine and was found guilty of other infractions, which violated his probation in another case.

Looks like X just can't get right.

Blue-eyed blonde Nmachi, whose name means “Beauty of God” in the Nigerian couple’s homeland, has baffled genetics experts because neither Ben nor wife Angela have ANY mixed-race family history. Pale genes skipping generations before cropping up again could have explained the baby’s appearance. Ben also stressed: “My wife is true to me. Even if she hadn’t been, the baby still wouldn’t look like that. “We both just sat there after the birth staring at her for ages – not saying anything.” Doctors at Queen Mary’s Hospital in Sidcup – where Angela, from nearby Woolwich, gave birth – have told the parents Nmachi is definitely no albino.

Ben, who came to Britain with his wife five years ago and works for South Eastern Trains, said: “She doesn’t look like an albino child anyway – not like the ones I’ve seen back in Nigeria or in books. She just looks like a healthy white baby.” “But we don’t know of any white ancestry. We wondered if it was a genetic twist. “But even then, what is with the long curly blonde hair?” Professor Bryan Sykes, head of Human Genetics at Oxford University and Britain’s leading expert, yesterday called the birth “extraordinary”. The film takes place across the seas, over the skies and land in a battle for planet survival against a superior force.  And it's set for release on May 25, 2012.

 Foxy Brown was arrested on Wednesday and charged with violating an order of protection from a neighbor.

The neighbor in question, Arlene Raymond, is the same individual that Brown was accused of striking with a Blackberry mobile device in 2007, according to police. 

Brown reportedly had a chance interaction with the neighbor in Prospect Park, Brooklyn, where they both reside. 

They had an exchange of words. After looking at Brown, the rapper reportedly ask Raymond, "B***h what you looking at?"

Raymond immediately called the police, sources say.

Brown was formally charged with one count of criminal contempt, a class E felony.

Neither Brown nor a representative was available for comment.

According to a source from The National Enquirer, not only is Whitney Houston back on drugs but spends up to $300K a year to keep up her habit.  More details on Whitney and DMX's wife's tell all book when you read on.

The National Enquirer states that Whitney's friends are worried about her and believe she is in a downward spiral that will take her life.

Her entourage supposedly recruited a drug dealer and bought $6,000 worth of cocaine during one of her Europe tour stops, according a person who claims they were an eye witness to the deal.

The Enquirer says according to their own in-depth investigation, Whitney has spent around $6,300 a week on drugs, which amounts to $327,600 a year.

Her friend Marlon David, a party promoter told the Enquirer:

Whitney is a dead woman walking! With the amount of drugs she’s buying, she won’t be able to live long. She’ll be dead in months.

Geez, way to give us hope after crushing our dreams. Usher’s VH1 ‘Behind the Music’ aired yesterday evening and the singer revealed that he and former flame, Chilli, could have worked! Le sigh…

With their Jay Z and Beyonce charisma, fans wanted nothing more than to see Usher and Chilli get married and have few brown babies with slicked down baby-hair. But of course, Confessions came along, not to mention Usher’s public cheating, and everything went to hell. However, last night, Usher revealed that he was more frustrated than anything, and they could have made the relationship work a little later on in life.

"What I expected and wanted from her wasn't what she could give me at the time. I actually talked about marriage and it didn't work." Chilli was fresh off of a divorce with producer Dallas Austin and was NOT trying to quickly jump into another marriage and add to her family.

DREAM ADMITS MARRIAGE PROBLEMS...and suicide????

In a new letter, posted personally by The Dream he addresses his failed marriage with Christina Milian as well as details why the couple pretended to be in a happy marriage for so long. This statement comes just one day after an alleged friend of Christina Milian blasted the producer/singer for being mentally controlling and emotionally abusive.

In My Own Words:

First I want to thank God for the trials of life, without them we can’t know purpose!

I would love to tell the truth as to why my relationship wasn’t successful, but today that is between me and Christina. It’s easy to say that it’s because of another woman or a new relationship but truthfully, IT’S NOT.

I take FULL RESPONSIBILITY for misleading everyone into thinking everything was fine and okay when we knew problems existed for awhile! I wanted to speak up but we decided it wasn’t for anyone to know. I would NEVER intentionally hurt a soul and everyone around me knows that! There was so much going on in me and Christina’s personal world that I tried to deal with it as delicately as I could and tried to regain my footing. Instead of being direct in order not to cause even more hurt or hurt someone’s feelings, I carried the weight in secret!

I am Human and people fall in and out of Love all the time… This is Life. Nothing’s promised or perfect, neither am I. I am not proud that I lost something we once had…LOVE! I’ve always been a Loving Father, Hard Worker, Generous, Stern and Eager to prove myself. My faults are I can be irresponsible and an ass sometimes, but I HAVE NEVER and WILL NEVER be a malicious person or wish harm to anyone, especially those I love or the mother of my child. I’m sorry for the embarrassment to everyone involved! If there’s anyone to blame and you can’t fathom this happening, please blame me and me alone for not being upfront! Even though we were trying to overcome personal things between us, I was just simply scared and embarrassed to let everyone know we WERE FAILING and HAVE NOW FAILED!

This is not to justify anything, it’s true emotion! It’s a real thing that involves real people! I’ve cried about this for months, after interviews, after prayer and I’ve tried to take my own life at a point because of the failure that was looming.

But I was reminded by my MOTHER that I am not “Superman” and it’s okay to lose sometimes…

This too shall pass! And everything will be fine!

ESSENCE.com: Your show "Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch" premiered on Sunday and you've caught a lot of flack because you only chose two Black women. How do you feel about that?

OCHOCINCO: I don't understand why. Those who know me didn't think twice about it because they already know how I am. I deal with all types of women. My mind set is that I think outside the box. I'm all over the place and I want to experience everything. There's nothing wrong with [Black women] at all.  If I did it the way they wanted though, there still would have been something to fuss about. It's a lose-lose for me because no matter how I do it, there's going to be an argument. ESSENCE.com: Are you surprised that Black women feel the way they do about your show?

OCHOCINCO: I can't do anything about that. I've never heard other races complaining about their men dating outside of their race besides Black people. I hate that we continue to pull that race card. Experience life in general. It's not that there's not enough of us because I'm going to deal with y'all anyway, I always have. [People] make it an issue because it's now on camera.

ESSENCE.com: Can you understand where some Black women are coming from?

OCHOCINCO: Yeah, but I still can't appease you. I have a preference. I'm not trying to appease you on my show. I'm trying to find happiness for me and it doesn't come from just dealing with one type of woman.  



ESSENCE.com: What is your "preference"?

OCHOCINCO: Black, White, Chinese, I don't care what you are. If you put a smile on my face, I don't want much. I want somebody who is fun, has a personality and can cook and take me to McDonald's. Keep your nails and your feet done, and we're good to go. You have to have a personality like me. Someone fun and outgoing, passionate about life in general, a go-getter with a sense of humor. Beautiful is okay, but I've dealt with beautiful women so many times before and they had nothing else to offer. I need more than that. 

K Ci and Jo Jo get a show...

I squeeled with glee when I stumbled upon this gem because let's be honest, Jodeci was the pinnacle of 90's R&B. Cedric "K-Ci" Hailey and Joel "JoJo" Hailey, half of the group went on to release some relatively successful music as a pair but their musical careers have been eclipsed by drugs and other issues. But luckily all of us 90's R&B fans will have all of our questions answered about what happened to K-Ci and JoJo in their new reality show, "K-Ci and JoJo...Come Clean" - which will air on TVOne in October.

According to K-CI, it will shed some light on what is going on with he and his brother JoJo...K-Ci says, "We did a lot of things, made a lot of mistakes and we’re putting it all on the table so you won’t have to read it on the internet."

Ludacris To Star In Fifth Installment Of Fast And Furious

 Common Ground headliner, Ludacris has said that there will be a Fast & Furious 5, and he will be starring in it. Through a series of Tweets posted this week Luda has revealed that he will in fact star in the fifth Fast And Furious movie.

The movie is currently being filmed in Puerto Rico, but other cities are expected to be included in the film.

“Just landed in Puerto Rico. Shooting for Fast & Furious 5 is about to be underway…Hey, it's not my fault we r shooting part of the movie in Puerto Rico,” the rapper Tweeted.

Ludacris previously starred in 2003’s 2 Fast 2 Furious, the sequel to the first Fast And Furious movie. Joining Ludacris in the Fast And Furious 5 will be Vin Diesel, Paul Walker, Tyrese Gibson, and Fast And Furious newcomer Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson.

Fast And Furious 5 is scheduled to be released on June 10, 2011.

Mashonda:  No. Not out of malice, but because weddings are sacred. It's just not my place. The only reason I went to his birthday party was because he invited me and I did that for myself. I needed to see them together for it to transfer. And I was like ‘Wow, this is real.’ We were still totally married…We had a divorce that was nowhere near final, but I just needed to see them in action for it to be real to me, and it was definitely real. You have all these different types of steps that you have to set up for yourself until you get to that place where you are free. And I will tell you, after I got divorced maybe three weeks later I woke up and felt a weight removed. It was the first time I’d ever felt mentally free. And I sent him an email wishing him all the best in the world.

We know what your thinking...Gas meets Fire again, but its not that serious....yet. Word on the block is after Chris Brown started crying and snotting all over the BET stage, Rihanna reached out via text and they have been talking ever since. I don’t know what all else is going on with that. Rihanna has moved on and so has Chris with his various.....ahem....friends. I really don’t think they need to get together again until they are all matured up. Let's see where this goes.

Whoopi defends Mel Gibson and his comments......

Whoopi Goldberg has come out in defense of her friend Mel Gibson after he went off on a sexist, racist tirade on his ex-girlfriend, Oksana Grigorieva. Gibson even went as far as to threaten her life and tell her that he was going to bury her in rose garden. Although, Grigorieva claims that she didn’t leak the tape, she did admit to secretly taping the conversations without his knowledge because she feared for her life. Um, yeah, I might too.

Just a few of the Gibson gems included, "You're an embarrassment to me," Gibson told Grigorieva, according to gossip site Radaronline.com. "You look like a f---ing pig in heat, and if you get raped by a pack of n---ers, it will be your fault."

Boneheads do things like wreck their best friend’s cars, not threaten to kill and bury their girlfriends in the rose garden. I do believe there’s a difference.

 Incarcerated rapper Lil Wayne has released a new letter from Rikers Island updating fans on his current condition and how impressed he has been by Drake and Nicki Minaj.

In his letter, Wayne also breaks down his daily routine.

"So I've been writing and let me be the first to tell you that the lyrics that I'm writing are... well there's no word that I can think of that properly defines them. Looks like there is not going to be a Tyler Perry – Aaron McGruder standoff in court. Darn. 'The Boondocks' episode that everyone is STILL talking about attempted to demolish Perry’s image by highlighting every rumor and negative nuance that surrounds his work in theatre and film. Entertainment Weekly gave a pretty good description of the episode in case you missed it:

The “Pause” episode’s Ma Duke character was clearly Madea, and it stands to reason that the Winston Jerome character was Tyler Perry (neither Perry’s office nor Turner Networks would comment on the episode). Jerome’s works were portrayed as poorly written and almost buffoonish and set him up as a closeted, cultish leader, who created his Ma Duke empire as a way to solicit sex with men. In the episode, Huey and Riley’s grandpa gets cast in Jerome’s new play, “Ma Duke Gets a Man.” First he’s asked to kiss Ma Duke on stage, then Jerome asks him straight out for sex..... which was kinda funny lol

Mel Gibson Racist???

Civil rights activists are strongly condemning actor and director Mel Gibson’s alleged use of the N-word during a recorded argument with the mother of his child publicized by two tabloid media websites.

   Earl Ofari Hutchinson, president of the Los Angeles Urban Policy Institute, is calling for a boycott of Gibson’s movies while the Southern Christian Leadership Conference California said that Gibson has shown a pattern of racism and sexism in prior remarks.

Rev. Eric P. Lee, president of the California branch of SCLC, said Gibson’s statements are sexist and racist.

Gibson has shown “patterns of racism, sexism and anti-Semitism, because this is not the first time he has been publicly heard making extremely offensive comments about other races, and now about women,” Lee said.

Reporters say they have heard a tape made by Oksana Grigorieva, Gibson's ex-girlfriend and mother of his baby daughter, Lucia. Gibson and Grigorieva have been battling in court over custody issues.

Gibson’s representative Alan Nierob said that he had not yet confirmed the report's accuracy "due to legal matters."

Jay Z, Beyonce, And Rihanna Boycotted Bet Awards Because Of Chris Brown

I'm sure that I was not the only person that noticed the absence of 3 of hip-hops juggernauts at the BET Awards. Word on the block is that actually Jay Z, Rihanna and Beyonce were all INVITED to perform at the BET Awards. But when they learned that Chris Brown would be performing. They said they were "busy". Hmmmmmm...

Rihanna and Jay have tours coming up that they are having trouble selling  – of course they needed the exposure.”(I'm not sure if I can believe that one) But the insider told us, “It was a matter of principal, if BET was willing to support Chris after what he did – that was THEIR BUSINESS. But [Rihanna Jay and Bey] were not going to have ANYTHING to do with the show.”

And not having any of the BIG THREE on the show was a problem. According to Nielsen, this years BET Awards drew 15% fewer viewers than last years.

The film would be produced by Brian Grazer, who most recently produced Robin Hood, Inside Man, American Gangster and many other films is set to produce this film with Murphy. The film is sure to test the reins of Murphy’s true acting range. No word yet of the script, shoot date or any other cast members as this film is still coming together. Good God!

Drake Being Sued By Playboy

DRAKE, who is having a phenomenal year with the release of his first album, is being sued by PLAYBOY. 

PLAYBOY ENTERPRISES, headed by HUGH HEFNER, has filed a lawsuit in US DISTRICT COURT in LOS ANGELES claiming the rapper sampled portions of “FALLIN’ IN LOVE” by HAMILTON, JOE FRANK and REYNOLDS, whose rights belong to PLAYBOY, in his hit “BEST I EVER HAD.”

In the suit, PLAYBOY claims DRAKE “knew or should have reasonably known” that the song was protected by copyright. PLAYBOY wants DRAKE to cease selling the record and turn over all profits made from it.

UPDATE: Lil Boosie Speeds Through 2-Minute Hearing, Pleads Not Guilty

Incarcerated rapper Torrence "Lil Boosie" Hatch appeared in court today to plead not guilty to murder charges.

After the two-minute hearing, attorneys handling the case addressed the media.

"He's not guilty," said Defense Attorney Marcus Allen. "I think he's absolutely not guilty. I think he meant what he said. He's absolutely not guilty. We're just going to prepare for his defense and get ready to address the charges.  I'd rather wait for the evidence to speak as to what happened," said District Attorney Hillar Moore. "He's got several different cases, so it depends on which one you're talking about. He also has the introduction of the drugs into the prison and obviously, he's presumed innocent at this point." The 27-year-old pleaded not guilty to conspiracy and drug charges as well. (WAFB News)

50 Cent takes Kids in Queens from behind the computer screens!!

The platinum-selling superstar hosted a day of games and healthy snacks at a Queens park Saturday to encourage kids from his old 'hood to put down the video games and get some exercise.

"I just want [kids] to be active, move around and be physical," the 34-year-old Queens native said. "Don't sit in front of a computer all day."

Drake has #1 Album in the country!

The rapper moved 446,680 units during his opening week, giving him the third biggest opening week of the year, behind Lady Antebellum’s Need You Now (481,000) and Sade’s Soldier of Love (502,000).

The 14-track album features guest appearances from Alicia Keys, Jay-Z, Young Jeezy, Cash  Money Records label mate Lil Wayne and others.According to Drake, he is happy with the results of Thank Me Later, but aims to do better with his sophomore album.
“I’m very humbled, very honored by the response of what we’ve done thus far, but – in my mind - we could do a lot better. I’m just working towards that,” Drake stated during an interview.

Let's see if the Young Money superstar can hold his top spot for a second consecutive week. It's going to be hard, especially after Detroit's own Eminem just released his newest album "Recovery".

Ludacris Hopes Nicki Minaj/Lil Kim Kiss & Make Up, "Squash All This Bullsh*t"

Grammy-winning rapper Ludacris recently gave his thoughts on the Nicki Minaj/Lil Kim dispute and said both emcees should come together for a collaboration. Luda believes there is more than enough room for an ample amount of female competition in rap.

"I think if Lil' Kim and Nicki Minaj do a record together it's gonna kill the entire industry," Luda said in an interview. "You don't have that many women in the industry so the lane is wide open...The fact that we have females out there that's going back and forth -- and I'm not saying it's either one's fault -- I feel like y'all need to come together and squash all this bulls-- and make records together...Because [there's] a lot of women that wanna hear what the h*ll y'all got to say."   UNITED STATES LIFTS RESTRICTIONS ON REFUGEES TO MICHIGAN!!!??!!

   The U.S. State Department is changing a two-year-old policy that limited refugee resettlement to the Detroit area to those with close relatives because of Michigan's struggling economy. State Department deputy director  of refugee admissions Lawrence Bartlett tells the Press the rules are being loosened because most refugees with immediate family had been resettled and there was room for more. Most refugees coming to the Detroit area are Iraqi because of the community's large Middle Eastern population. The government's new policy allows for a refugee with any friend or family ties to resettle in the area. 

Lil Wayne Pleads Guilty To Gun Charge!

Currently serving a one-year prison sentence on a gun charge in New York’s Rikers Island, Lil Wayne appeared in a Yuma County, Arizona, courtroom on Friday (June 18) morning through live video feed to change his plea in a 2008 drugs and gun case there to guilty. By doing so, his chances of more jail time lessen.

On January 22, 2008 authorities stopped Wayne’s tour bus at a U.S. Border Patrol checkpoint almost 80 miles east of Yuma. They found cocaine, marijuana, Ecstasy, drug paraphernalia and a .40-caliber handgun registered to Wayne. He was charged with felony possession of a narcotic drug for sale, possession of dangerous drugs, misconduct involving weapons and possession of drug paraphernalia. At the time Wayne pleaded not guilty to all the felony charges.

The acclaimed rapper could get up to 36 months of probation on the Yuma charges. They’d start after his New York sentence ends. Superior Court Judge Mark Wayne Reeves sentences Wayne on June 30.

Rapper Lil Boosie Indicted for First-Degree Murder; Death Penalty Possible!!!

 Baton Rouge-born rapper, Torrence Hatch, known to fans as Lil Boosie, was indicted by an East Baton Rouge Parish grand jury Thursday afternoon on a first-degree murder charge for his alleged involvement in a shooting incident in October that left one man dead.

Detectives have stated that Terry Boyd, 35, was shot to death on Oct. 21, when bullets were fired through a window of his Baton Rouge home. A grand jury also indicted Adrian Pittman, 36, and Michael Louding, 17, for first-degree murder in Boyd's death.

Hatch, 27, and his girlfriend Walnita Decur, 25, were also indicted on several drug-related charges.

This is not the first run in with the law for for the flashy rapper. In September, Hatch pleaded guilty to drug and gun charges after deputies confiscated marijuana and a gun from his car. Hatch is currently in jail for violating his probation in November for leaving his house, on more than one occasion, while sentenced to home confinement.

Torrence "Lil Boosie" Hatch arrived on the music scene with his 2005 summer hit "Give Me That" and achieved subsequent commercial success with his pithy 2007 club anthem "Wipe Me Down." No trial date information has been released.

On May 12th during a New York Yankees vs. Detroit Tigers baseball game Eminem and Jay-Z announced they would have a two-town tour that included, where else but Detroit and New York. The dates and ticket prices have finally been confirmed! The Detroit concert will take place on Sep. 2nd at Comerica Park and the New York concert will be held on Sep. 13th at Yankee Stadium. The prices for the Comerica Park show are $49.50, $79.50, and $99.50. Tickets will go on sale June 25th. Lakers edge Celtics for Back-To-Back Championship!!!

The Los Angeles Lakers and the Boston Celtics battle it out in Game 7 for the NBA Championship.
In a crucial game for both teams the Lakers inched their way to a 16th total franchise championship winning the series 4-3, with a 83-79 win. The game wasn’t pretty but it was dramatic and a nail biter for any Game 7. Kobe Bryant shot an awful 6-24 for the game but still managed to grab 15 rebounds while Pau Gasol and Ron Artest carried the team. The Celtics played tough for three quarters but still couldn’t manage to hold off the Lakers.

Now is the time for all the bandwagon Faker…umm…Laker fans to rejoice! The line of the night was ‘Looney Tune’– Ron Artest shouting out his therapist! Really??? Man, you just won your first championship and you thank your shrink and plug your single? That right there is some mess!

Now that the beloved Kobe Bryant has won his 5th NBA championship the yappers will begin to compare him to MJ even more! There is no comparison! Jordan never shot 6-24 in a championship game and never as many bad shots as Bryant. Say what you want but Kobe is no MJ. He’s a great player but not better than Michael Jordan. So what does the summer hold for both the Celtics and the Lakers? Both teams are old and both coaches are expected to step away. All that matters is that the Lakers don’t win another championship for the next 20 years!

Are police going too far???

According to Seattle police, the incident began when an officer spotted a man jaywalking in the 3100 block of Martin Luther King, Jr. Way S. at approximately 3:10 p.m. The man was some 15 feet away from a pedestrian overpass, police said.

The officer was talking to the man when he saw four young women jaywalk across the same street at the same spot. The officer asked the women to step over to his patrol car, but the women were being "verbally antagonistic toward the officer," according to officials.

One of the women, later identified as a 19 year old, began to walk away from the scene despite the officer's instructions, prompting the officer to walk over to her and escort her back to his patrol car.

The girl then "began to tense up her arm, and pull away from the officer while yelling at him," investigators said. The officer told the girl to place her hands on his patrol car, but she refused. When the officer tried to grab hold of her, "she pulled away and twisted, breaking free of the officer's grip several times," the blotter report said.

When the officer tried to handcuff the girl, another girl, this one 17 years old, intervened and placed her hands on the officer's arm, "causing the officer to believe she was attempting to physically affect the first subject's escape," police said.

The officer pushed back the second girl, but the girl came back at him. The officer then punched her, police said.

The officer then handcuffed the 19-year-old woman. Other officers arrived and helped handcuff the second girl.

Both teens were cited for jaywalking. The older suspect was booked into the King County Jail for investigation of obstructing an officer. The 17-year-old girl was booked into the Youth Service Center for investigation of assault of an officer.

Nobody was injured during the incident, police said.

Seattle police have not reviewed the video of the incident. Sgt. Sean Whitcomb said investigators may review the video on Tuesday.

Whitcomb said the officer involved in the incident sent out a call for help, prompting other officers to rush to his aid.

All use of force on the job is reviewed, Whitcomb said, as use of force is under the officer's discretion. He added that punching is a trained tactic.

"There will be a thorough investigation into this incident," he said.

T.I. said his community contributions helped earn him an opportunity to a plea deal.

"What people don't take into consideration is the reason that I was eligible for certain agreements that they weren't eligible for was because I made myself a useful member of society. Most muthaf*ckas catch cases and get time. My n*gga, you wasn't doing sh*t when you was out here, so wasn't no reason for them to keep you out here. Please understand the G code that I learned from, if you speak out your mouth that a muthaf*cka is telling on somebody and you can't come with indisputable, irrefutable facts to support that statement, that makes you the sucker," T.I. said. The Carters and the Smiths were SEEN on the SCENE at this year's Tony Awards. Jay along with Will and Jada were in high spirits after their co-produced hit broadway musical Fela! won three awards. The categories were for best choreography, best sound design and best costume design of a musical.

They did not withhold high-fiving each other on their collaboration after Will and Jada delivered a brief speech on behalf of their wins.

Rihanna graces the cover of Elle, which hits newstands on June 15th. After being pictured numerous times with her boy toy and denying their status, Rihanna finally admits that she has a boyfriend. She also speaks on black women being represented in fashion and what went on the night that Chris Brown felt the need to use her face as a punching bag.

Relationship Status: “I have a boyfriend. I’m so happy. I feel really comfortable, and it’s so easy. I have such a chaotic life, but at the end of the day, that is just my peace. It keeps me sane, really, talking to him and talking to my family.”

Fashion: “It’s clear there are definitely fewer black women in the high-fashion industry. One of the things I respected most about Gucci was that they did a print campaign with me. I’m a black girl on a fashion spread for Gucci—that was a big deal. I respect designers who aren’t afraid to go outside the box. I went to a Jean Paul Gaultier show, and I saw girls who are thicker than me, beautiful and voluptuous and different ethnicities. That made me so excited. I thought, Okay, I can work that, for sure.”

What Happened: “A year ago, I was very confused. Because he was my best friend. All of a sudden, one night changed our whole lives—not only our friendship, but our lives. I wanted to wake up one day and just not have that pain anymore. I wanted to be with him again or get over him—it was either-or. I just didn’t want to feel the pain, the confusion.”

But will he leave for Lebron?

Presumably, coaching Cleveland is attractive to Izzo because the Cavs, with LeBron James, are a ready-made championship contender.

But Izzo won't know if James is staying in Cleveland until at least July 1, and probably later -- James might drag this thing into late July. And Cavs owner Dan Gilbert certainly will want an answer before July.

Gilbert said this week that LeBron James is not pressing the buttons here, a proclamation that was both laughable and three years too late. The Cavs have always, always, ALWAYS kowtowed to LeBron. Gilbert would rename his team, his company and himself if it meant keeping his superstar. Everything the Cavs have done under his watch was done to impress LeBron James.

And yet: Gilbert also cares about the perception that this is James' call. Plus, Gilbert has every right to want somebody who wants to coach in the NBA -- not just a guy who wants to coach LeBron James. At first I thought Gilbert would wait for Izzo, but now I don't see that happening. He will want an answer soon.

What does Izzo do? If he wants to stay at MSU for life, then the choice is easy. But he has long held a fascination with the NBA, which is understandable. Almost every basketball coach has thought about coaching in the NBA. Izzo is 55. He is not quite at "now or never" time, but he's getting there.

But the Cavaliers job is simply not that attractive without James -- Izzo can frankly do better, and he surely knows it. So, hypothetically, let's say he only wants the job if he can coach James.

What does he do?

One reason Izzo has been so successful is that he builds relationships with everybody but fully trusts only a few. That is how you win and stay clean in a dirty business. Izzo manages to play the game on the recruiting trail while keeping his integrity. It's not an easy balance.

Izzo, like everybody in basketball, knows James' buddy William (World Wide Wes) Wesley. What if Wes tells Izzo that LeBron probably will stay in Cleveland? Does Izzo trust Wes (or somebody else close to James)? That may be the essential question in this ordeal, which points to another issue: As big of a story as this is in Michigan, Izzo really is just part of a larger story.

The impending free agency of LeBron James is unlike anything I've seen in sports. We're used to star athletes selling their services to the highest bidder or choosing a team for various reasons. For James, free agency is not just a means to an end -- the suspense and speculation seem to mean almost as much to him as picking a team.

At various times in recent months, the Cavs, the Knicks and the Bulls believed they would land James. Miami and the Nets might have gotten that impression, too. This is not an accident. The James camp seems to be whispering what each team wants to hear.

James' genius -- and it is a twisted genius -- is that he never leaves fingerprints. If any of the rejected suitors complain that they were misled, he can reasonably say that's crazy -- he always said he didn't know what he would do.

This will all come back to bite James, who is antagonizing more people than he knows. It will damage at least two teams he rejects.

But it will all be worth it for whoever ends up with the 25-year-old two-time league MVP.

LeBron James' next coach probably will win an NBA championship. But if Tom Izzo wants to win an NBA championship, he must first be sure that he'll be LeBron James' next coach

There is a verse on the Drake song “Fireworks” and Drake seems to make a reference to a special moment he had with Rihanna. Apparently, he speaks on the Lucky Strikes bowling alley and this is where he and Rihanna were spotted making out in the first place. Maybe Drake is reminiscing on the love they once had? LOL…seriously…I don’t know. People are interested in it though so there you go. This is the second verse of “Fireworks” and people are saying Drake admits it was a mistake.

South Africa is in shock today as the news spread that Nelson Mandela will not attend the opening match after  the tragic death of his great granddaughter.

The excitement in the rainbow nation had reached fever pitch ahead of the opening match early this morning and the expected attendance of the father of the nation had send the levels of expectations into the stratosphere.

However, the death of his 13-year-old great-granddaughter has considerably tempered the hype on this historic day.

Zenani Mandela, one of his nine great grandchildren, was killed on her way home from the World Cup concert at the Orlando Stadium in Soweto, the venue where the Crusaders played their semi-final only weeks ago.

South Africans have hardly been able to contain their excitement and pride and Johannesburg was awoken by the sound of vuvuzela horns as early as 5am yesterday, blaring across every corner of the city, from the posh neighbourhoods of Sandton to the shanty towns of Daveyton.

The Nelson Mandela Foundation last night put a statement that "the family has asked for privacy as they mourn this tragedy'' and said that it would be inappropriate at this time of grieving to appear at Soccer City.

After TwitThuggin' about how much he stands by his words and anyone who disagrees can suck a sick d**k, the rapper now implies that his comments with the mag were "taken out of context". Audio and such when you read on...

In the 15 minute clip, Slim claims that he would like Vibe to release the full audio of the interview.  He says he and the interviewer were originally speaking about a comedy skit he had done with Comedy Central, and it led into this specific discussion about why black women are single.  He also said "I've never dated a white girl in my life".  *eyebrows raised*

As soon as the story broke, though, Slim went in on twitter adamantly defending everything that came out in the VIBE interview and even debated his followers on why he is right and said he wouldn't back down.

On this call with Tigger, Thug also said people are treating him like he's a role model.  And insinuated that he's not.  Sounds like he's now back tracking to me.

Kwame may get a break?

(Lansing, MI)  --  The Michigan Department of Corrections is recommending former Detroit Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick be enrolled in boot camp, which would get him out of prison very early.  The 40-year-old Kilpatrick began serving a prison sentence which was expected to last between a year and a half and five years this week in Manistee.  However, the boot camp option would have him eligible for parole after 90 days.  Wayne County Prosecutor Kym Worthy says she will fight the recommendation, while Kilpatrick's former attorney Michael Alan Schwartz believes that doing so would, quote, "remove the unfairness to some degree of what Judge Groner did." 

VH1 Hip Hop Honors 2010

The 2010 VH1 Hip Hop Honors was a celebration of “The Dirty South”  last night with tributes to Master P, Rap-A-Lot Records, So So Def, and Texas, Miami & Atlanta. JD brought out Bow Wow, Dem Franchize Boys & Diddy for a set that included “Welcome To Atlanta”  & “Jump”. Bow Wow wore his pants backwards in honor of Kriss Kross,the first group signed to So So Def

The Game, Bun B, Drake, Willie D and Juvenile performed a tribute to Rap-A-Lot Records while Romeo, Trina, Silk The Shocker and Mystical hit the stage for a Master P Tribute. Keri Hilson, Nelly, Fabolous, Gucci Mane, Rick Ross, Trina and Missy Elliot also performed.

International Access Denied!! 

Looks like those legal matters of Chris' are preventing him from traveling overseas to the UK and Ireland to do that leg of his Fan Appreciation tour.  He Tweeted that he had to cancel--without explanation--then deleted the Tweet.  But now his PR group has given the official statement.

Kudos to the Washington family for giving back to the community! Earlier today in NYC, the couple held their 7th annual Gifted Scholars Program in Neuroscience awards presentation. We received the following press release this afternoon dishing some more details about the foundation.

Founded by Deborah Kenny, Ph.D., in 2001, Harlem Village Academies gained national acclaim for turning at-risk students into college-bound scholars.  The academies made history in 2007 as the first in Harlem to achieve 100 percent proficiency in math and science, and more than 90 percent in reading.
 
Offered by the Cedars-Sinai Department of Neurosurgery, the scholarships allow recipients to work during the summer months with world-renowned physicians, neurosurgeons and scientists. The program provides $2,500 in monthly support for a graduate-level researcher and $2,000 a month for an undergraduate. Recipients are expected to prepare a scientific abstract or paper to submit to a national neuroscience, cancer or neurosurgery organization.

Jersey City man hopes to play Tupac Shakur in upcoming movie

He's known around Jersey City at the "Pathmark Tupac" because of his part-time job at the grocery store on Grand Street.It’s hard for Rich Garcia, of Jersey City, to walk down the street or go to a club without people stopping him and asking for a photograph.

“All the people that stop us, if I got a penny for each one, I’d be a billionaire,” his wife Mary Ibrahim said.

The Jersey City couple said people often do double takes when they see Garcia’s shaved head, white bandanna and tattoos. He’s a spitting image of the late rapper Tupac Shakur.

Garcia, 34, is hoping the resemblance and his love of Shakur will land him a job starring as the rapper in a biopic being directed by Antoine Fuqua, who directed “Training Day” and “Brooklyn’s Finest.”

Garcia said people told him to audition to play Shakur in “Notorious,” the 2009 biopic of rapper Biggie Smalls. But Garcia said he hoped a movie about Shakur would come out and wanted a chance to audition.

Garcia may be in luck. The director wants to discover someone new.

“I want to go to the streets and find him anywhere he might be in the world,” Fuqua told British Entertainment website Digital Spy.

Hot 97 radio hosts announced this week that Fuqua was looking for an unknown person to play Shakur in the film and within minutes, Garcia was being approached by people in Jersey City who told him he had to try out.

Garcia said he plans to attend the New York City auditions for the film. His friend Tyqawn Headen, who is about to open Outbox Media in Bayonne, has been taking portfolio photographs and plans to shoot some video of Garcia.

“This is my time to do it,” Garcia said. “If Fuqua would meet up with me and give me a few lines, maybe he’ll like my stuff.”

Garcia is known around Jersey City as the “Pathmark Tupac,” because he works part-time at the grocery store on Grand Street. His fan page on the social media website Facebook has gained over 2,000 followers since it went up in February.

He’s met Shakur’s father Bill Garland, who lives in New Jersey and went to Pathmark to see his son’s look-alike, and Shakur's sister Takerra Allen, who wrote a book and held a signing in Jersey City last year.

He is traveling to Georgia this month for the Tupac Shakur Birthday Benefit Concert in hopes of meeting the musician’s mother. Shakur and Garcia were both born on June 16, just four years apart.

While Garcia isn’t black — he’s Puerto Rican — he said he could still play the part.

“Al Pacino was not Cuban and he made Scarface the biggest movie on the planet,” he argues.

Garcia, a long-time fan, has naturally curly hair. When a friend suggested he looked like Shakur in high school and should shave his head, he did and never stopped.

“I used to listen to Tupac before he went solo,” Garcia said. “I used to listen to Digital Underground.”

Shakur got his start as a roadie and back up dancer for the hip hop group before releasing his debut solo album, “2Pacalypse Now” in late 1991.

Garcia said Shakur’s music, about living in ghettos and experiencing violence and racism, speaks to him. Growing up in Newark, Garcia dropped out of South Orange High School. He has seven children with three different mothers and said friends are addicted to drugs and in jail.

It wasn’t until he started having children that Garcia decide to get his high school diploma and go back to school.

“I wasn’t going anywhere and I was working two or three jobs,” he said.

He went to Hudson County Community College and earned an associate’s degree. In January he graduated from New Jersey City University, where he met his wife, with a bachelor’s in science and started working as a substitute in Jersey City public schools. Garcia said he hopes to get a master’s and continue teaching.

Garcia wants to be a positive role model, showing kids that they can avoid drugs and crime.

“If you believe in yourself that’s all you need,” he said.

Word is Drake's girlfriend, model/exotic dancer Maliah Michelle is preggers.

According to sources, Maliah is in Jamaica doing a photo and video shoot. And word is that she's told everyone on the set NOT TO SMOKE around her and not to offer her any DRINKS . . . because she's preggers.

The insider explained, "I've known [Maliah] for a long time and she smokes plenty . . . so for her to say stop now, she must really be pregnant."

Janet Jackson is reportedly dating a wealthy Arab businessman from the Persian Gulf nation of Qatar. The 44-year-old Jackson and the 35-year-old Wissam Al Mana were seen together recently at Paris Fashion Week. Earlier this year, Jackson was widely quoted as saying she wanted to settle down and start a family. It is unclear whether Mana is the man with whom she wants to start that family. Jan obviously has eclectic tastes in men.    

 Lil Mama Accused Of Trashing & Stealing Clothes From Music Video Shoot

New York rapper Lil Mama has been accused of stealing clothing from a recent music video with Lil Romeo and the New Boyz.

Reports claim the rapper and her dance team stole multiple clothing items.

"Lil Mama borrowed clothes for a video shoot and she and all the dancers trashed all the clothes and stole the rest," a source told RadarOnline. "Some of the clothes were totally ruined, with paint spots and dirt all over them." (The Boom Box)

Additional details claim legal action may be taken against Mama.

The producer of the music video attempted to get Lil Mama's people to return the stolen items but had no luck. "There has been endless lying throughout this scandal that has now been labeled the "Lil Mama Drama" and the producer has plans to take them to court," the source added. R.I.P. Ollie Woodson (Temptations)

Our condolences go out to the family and fans of Ollie Woodson, lead singer of the legendary singing group - The Temptations. The singer passed away on Sunday at the age of 58 after a long battle with cancer. While Woodson was not one of the original Temptations, he sang lead vocals for the group in the 80's and 90's and is most notably remembered from his smooth singing on the group's last hit record, "Treat Her Like A Lady".
